How to cook "Bogatyrski" pie step by step with photos

Ingredients for making large pie. I made half a batch. I bake this pie every day for us "Bogatyr" very large. In a large bowl mix together 1.5 cups of sieved flour, Italian seasoning (it comes with salt, if there is not enough salt, add more, but remember that salami is very salty), 2.)

Gently pour warm water and oil into the dry ingredients and mix well with a mixer. Beat the dough on high speed,

Gradually add the remaining flour. Knead the dough with your hands for 4-6 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Put the dough in a greased bowl and swirl. Cover with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for 30-45 minutes.

Roll out the dough, put it on the table, cover with cellophane and roll out the patties in a 42 * 30 cm rectangle.

Slice thinly the ham (or sausage), cheese and salami, julienne bell pepper and halve the olives.

I cooked with half of the ingredients I had one row in the center of the pie. So you either make two pies, like I did, or you make one big pie, and then put two rows of cut up ingredients in the middle. In the middle of the rectangle, layer the salami,

and ham (or sausage), top with bell peppers and olives. Cut the open edges of the pasta sheet into 3 cm wide strips.

Put strips one by one on top of the filling, crisscrossing them

crisscross the strips and cover the filling completely. Pinch the ends together. Put the cake on a greased baking sheet, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 30-45 minutes until it doubles in volume.

Then brush the pie with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with cumin seeds. Bake the cake at 205 C for 25 minutes. The finished pie can be stored in the refrigerator, reheating before serving. I had it overnight in a large bowl on the table, covered with a towel. It's good cold, too! Bon appétit! P.S Cooked half a serving it came out to the size of a large sliced loaf and imagine what the pie would be if cooked in its entirety. It's really big! Ate a piece of pie this morning, the pastry was soft.
