One of my favorite pastry recipes - "timeless" or "Khrushchev's". Many cooks are familiar with it and I'm sure love it as much as I do). I prefer to make pies, cakes and pie out of this dough. It turns out delicious baked goods with a thin, crispy, ruddy crust. It has lots of advantages not only in taste, but it keeps for a long time in the refrigerator, about a week, and it can be used to make such fancy pies, which wouldn't work with ordinary dough, because they lose their shape.

  • Sugar - 2 tablespoon
  • Whey - 1 glass
  • Butter - 180 g
  • Wheat flour / Flour - 3,5 glass
  • Yeast - 2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 0.5 teaspoon

  • White cabbage / Cabbage (young) - 300 g
  • Salt - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1/10 teaspoon

Rub yeast with salt, add warm whey and sugar, and stir. Melt butter (in the microwave), add to the main mixture. Mix. Pour the mixture into the baking machine. Add sifted flour and turn on "Dough". If making by hand, do everything in the same sequence. Add the flour in several steps. First knead with a spoon, then with your hands. The dough kneads quickly - it becomes very elastic and soft, but not heavy. It is better to add more flour later, before cutting. Take the dough out of the bowl of the bread maker. Put into a plastic sachet and leave in the fridge for 4 hours. This is what the dough looked like after 24 hours in the fridge.

Spread out the dough on a work surface and crumple it up with your hands. Divide into 2 parts, cover with a napkin.

Roll one part of the dough into an oval about 7 mm thick.

Put a template cut out of paper beforehand onto the dough.

Place the piece on a baking tray lined with baking paper. I greased the paper with vegetable oil. Lay out the stuffing. For the stuffing, finely chop the chicken filet and fry in vegetable oil until lightly golden. Add finely chopped young cabbage. Salt (to taste), pepper (to taste), fry until softened.

Roll out 2 portions of dough into an oval. Place a template and cut out, 1.5-2 cm beyond the outline.

5 minutes before the cake is ready, make the decorations. Roll out the pastry thinly and use a spatula to cut out the daisies. Pinch 2 small pieces of dough. Add dyes, green and yellow, to the pastry. Knead the pastry in your hands to evenly distribute the colors. The dough becomes like an elastic, fluffy mass, which is lovely to hold in your hands. Cut out circles of the right size for daisies - this will be the heart of the flower. Roll a few stems out of the green dough.

Take out the cake quickly, smear it with a mixture of egg, sugar and water, which you used to smear it before baking, and, like glue, start gluing the decorations on. It has to be done very quickly. Bake for another 5 minutes in the oven. As soon as the daisies begin to lightly brown, remove immediately. The dough for the décor is very thin, so it bakes quickly. Enjoy!!
