And me, silly me, with my baking experience, I fell for it, didn't I?. I should have used common sense, but I have a rule: the first time - strictly according to the recipe! Well, turns off the brain, because strictly according to the recipe! Oh, come on, I'll tell you about my misadventures...

Ingredients for chicken liver pie:


  • Wheat flour / Flour - 500 g
  • Yeast (dry) - 7 g
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk (Repertory gives TWO glasses) - 1 glass
  • Egg - 1 pc
  • Egg yolk - 1 pc
  • Butter - 3 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste


  • Chicken liver - 500 g
  • Chicken egg (boiled) - 3 pcs
  • Green onions - 1 pouch.
  • vegetable oil - 2 tablespoon

How to cook chicken liver pie step by step with photos

Prepare sourdough. Sift the flour. Pour half of the flour into a bowl, add the yeast, add 1 cup of warm water and place in a warm place for 40-50 minutes.

When the batter has doubled in size, beat an egg and yolk into it, add sugar, salt and melted butter.

Pour the milk and mix well.

Pour in the rest of the flour and knead the dough.

I made a dough like this, like on pancakes. What to do? If you add flour, you get dough like a Malanga's wedding! We have to add the other ingredients accordingly.

I poured half of the dough into a pan and put it on the balcony so it wouldn't overcook. I added flour to the rest of the dough. So, let's move on. Put the dough on the table and knead it well, it should be the consistency of earlobe. Return the dough to the pan and put it in a warm place until it has risen again.

In the meantime, prepare the filling. Wash the green onions and chop them. Fry in 0.5 tablespoon of vegetable oil for 2-3 minutes. Place in bowl.

Clean liver from streams, wash and cut into small pieces.

Fry in 1.5 tablespoon of oil for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Peel eggs and cut into slices.

I had a few more mushrooms, not enough for a separate dish. I sliced and fried them and added to the liver.

The dough rose to the rim of the pan, and I have a 4.5 l. That's a lot.

I cut off a part of the dough and put it away.

Next. Grease a large cake pan with remaining butter. Roll out 2/3 of the pastry and put it in the dish, making sure that the edges of the pastry are a little higher than the edges of the dish. Place livers, spread onions on top and cover all with egg slices.

Roll out the rest of the dough into a circle, d equal to the d shape, place it on the filling and carefully seal the edges.

Decorate the pie. Let it stand in a warm place for 30 minutes, then brush with beaten egg and make a hole in the middle.

I made dough rolls from the cut piece of dough.

Bake at 180*C for 45-50 minutes. Well, you will remember, of course, that half of the dough, cast earlier, I have on the balcony... I tweaked it a little bit and... I made pancakes.
