Ingredients for chocolate and nut rings:

  • Wheat flour / Flour - 250 g
  • Sugar - 30 g
  • Honey - 15 g
  • Butter - 20 g
  • Salt - 0.3 teaspoon
  • Yeast (dry instant) - 1.5 teaspoon
  • Milk - 120 ml
  • Chicken egg (1/3 in the dough; 2/3 for greasing) - 1 pc
  • brown sugar (for sprinkling the pastry) - 2 teaspoon
  • Nuts (I have walnuts for the filling) - 25 g
  • Dark Chocolate (for stuffing) - 25 g
  • White chocolate (in the filling) - 25 g
  • Vegetable oil (to grease a baking tray) - 1 teaspoon

How to cook rings with chocolate and nuts step by step with photos

I make the yeast dough in the bread machine, but you can also make it the normal way. Dissolve honey in warm milk, pour the milk into the baker's bucket, add the yeast, and let it stand for 5-10 minutes.

Add sifted flour, salt, sugar, softened butter, 1/3 part of a slightly beaten egg.

Put the bucket in the baking oven, turn on the mode of kneading the dough.

When the dough is kneaded, put it into a bowl, cover with cling film and leave in a warm place until it increases in volume by 2-3 times.

To prepare the filling, chop the nuts, white and dark chocolate with a knife.

When the dough has risen,

Turn it on the table and knead well.

Divide the dough into 6 equal parts. Cover the dough with clingfilm and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

Roll out each piece of dough into a 12*15 cm rectangle.

On the sides from top to middle make a 0.5 cm wide incision.

Cut off the side strips.

Make an incision in the center up to the middle.

Cut each half of the dough once more down the middle in the middle - you should have 4 equal wide strips of dough.

Cut each of the four strips in half again down the middle.

Place stuffing on whole half of dough.

Roll up and press the dough at the seam.

Continue folding.

Shape into a ring,

Turn over

Join the ends, press the edges well together and close the seam with one of the strips (the two neighboring strips have to be moved as well, so that there is no big gap). Pinch each end of the strip with a ring, flip it over.

Transfer the rolls to a greased baking tray,

Cover with cling film and let the pieces double in size.

Coat the rolls thoroughly with beaten egg,

Sprinkle with brown sugar.

From the cut strips of dough I molded these little florets (I also gave them to increase in size 2 times, their baking time is less than that of the rings).

Bake the rings in the oven at 190 degrees until golden (my oven has a baking time of 22 minutes). Enjoy your dinner!
