Grape Sprig Cake

Cooked pie a sprig of grapes

Nutritional Value

I suggest you try a wonderful pie in the form of a sprig of grapes. I woke up in the morning and started to surf the Internet in search of something unusual and interesting. When I saw a picture of such a twig, I was amazed and began to search for a recipe. I found it on another site by Irina Vladimirovna, and I am very grateful to her. According to her recipe I used the molding technique, because I already had a little dough rising)))) And I decided to make my favorite filling: poppy seed.

Knead Dough. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture when I put the dough in this morning. I think it's okay, because kneading the dough is easy. Dissolve yeast in warm milk (but not hot), add sugar, mix well and put in a warm place to foam. Melt butter (you can use vegetable oil) and beat with egg yolk. Add salt, add yeast and mix well. Then add flour and knead the dough. You may need more flour, but it was ok with my McFA and 200g. The dough should be put in a pan, lightly greased with oil, and left in a warm place for two hours. During this time it is necessary to knead the dough once.

Stuffing I decided to make poppy seeds, but not fancy. I did not pour boiling water over poppy seeds, but mixed them with sugar and butter. And I rinsed the raisins and poured water on them for about 5 minutes.

And then let's get to shaping. I divided the dough into three parts in half. The molding takes about 15-20 minutes., so the dough needs to be stored under polyethylene to prevent it from drying out. Roll into rolls and cut into small pieces (about 2 cm). Take one slice, make a flatbread with your hands, in the middle put about half a teaspoon of poppy-seed mixture and a couple of raisins (depending on your flatbread). The edges tuck and roll up the ball with your hands. We place the balls on the parchment paper covered baking tray and do not forget to cover them with plastic paper each time.

Place the balls in the shape of a sprig of grapes. Be guided by my picture.

Cut out the leaves from the remaining dough. I rolled out not a big circle, gave a leaf shape and cut out an imitation leaf with a knife. I made two versions.

Next, make not a big twig on which will hang our grapes. Roll out a piece of dough, pour the poppy seed mixture and roll up. Pinch the edges lightly. Let's roll a thin flagellum and wrap it around our twig. This is our stem for the decoration. Roll out two more stems for decoration.

Now we arrange our twig, leaves and stems to imitate a sprig of grapes. I got it like this. Then coat our sprig with the egg. Mix the egg and sugar thoroughly (this will give us a crusty crust). We put it into the preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees (use your oven as a guide).

After the time has passed take out our sprig. I coated with vegetable oil to brighten the product and wrapped in a bath towel.
