The recipe is taken from a pack of poppies :)). There's a similar recipe on the site, this one is a little different. I loved the combination of the shortbread dough, oddly enough easy to taste, and the delicate cottage cheese soufflé, topped with a wide poppy seed maca :). Help yourself!!!

How to cook mohn-quarkkuchen - poppy seed cake step by step with photos

My mom sent me a poppy seed cake baking sheet with a recipe on the back, how could I not try it?!!! I cooked with half the products in a small mold. Here are our products:

I pounded the sugar into powdered powder (I like it that way), added the melted butter.

I beat the egg and added the zest.

I added flour and baking powder. To be honest, I didn't measure the amount of flour on purpose. The dough came out very tender and homogeneous. I put it in the cling film and kept it in the cold for 30 minutes.

And I began to make the cottage cheese. I took 400 grams of cream-cheese curd and powdered sugar..

I whipped it and added melted butter and egg..

I whisked until smooth and poured in the pudding (vanilla). I whisked it once more and put in the fridge too.

For the poppy seed filling I took 1 egg and a white, Whipped the egg yolk with milk to grease. I added the poppy seeds from the package to the eggs (I have poppy seeds with sugar, you can add sugar to taste).

I whisked them and put them in the fridge (for nothing..)

Preparing the mold - here is its size (about 20x30 cm).

The dough has been in the fridge for half an hour and is ready to be cut. I cut off a small piece of dough for the upper strips..

I place the dough in the mold, stretching it out by hand. I make the sides as high as possible. As you can see, the form was just right for the amount of dough..

A little digression :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ : I was playing with the dough without watching my Little Muffin, but I looked back and saw this picture: it is more interesting to watch TV from under the sofa..

I took her out from under the sofa and poured the curd on the dough.

On top of it I poured the poppy seed (a rather thick consistency). I should have put it in the fridge for no reason, I could not spread it over the curd so that it would not stick out beyond the edges of the dough, and the poppy seed was uneven in some places :-( ) Out of frustration I did not take a picture of this step. Turned on the oven to 175 degrees. And rolled out a little leftover dough into decorating strips. I spread them with a mixture of egg and milk.

After exactly 40 minutes, my pie looked like this:

BUT on the cheesecake principle, I didn't take it out of the oven until it cooled. After an hour it was really itchy and I took the pie out and sliced it..

It's better to cut it cold, of course, but try to stop me..

This is what the pie looks like when cut. The shortbread dough rose well, the soufflé was tender but not shaky, the poppy seed layer is very tasty!! The lemon zest adds a subtle touch to the dough and soufflé, which makes it deceptively appear very light.. We liked the cake very much, I hope you will like it too!!! ENJOY!!!!
