As promised, I'm sharing a sweet version of a pie with a mold that looks like a bouquet of flowers. We liked this flavorful pie with two kinds of sweet filling very much! I hope it appeals to you, too!

Ingredients for Sweet Cake "Flowers":


  • Milk - 100 ml
  • Kefir - 200 ml
  • Salt - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Yeast (dry instant) - 2 teaspoon
  • Butter - 80 g
  • Wheat flour / Flour - 550 g
  • Vanillin - 2 pinch.
  • Chicken egg - 1 pc
  • Sugar - 80 g


  • Lemon juice - 20 ml
  • Cream cheese (cottage cheese - Hochland, Bonjour or Almette) - 200 g
  • apricots - 70 g
  • Cranberries (dried) - 50 g
  • Milk - 200 ml
  • Butter - 20 g
  • Wheat flour / Flour - 40 g
  • Chicken egg - 2 pcs
  • Sugar - 80 g


  • Vegetable oil (to grease the molds) - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame (1,5 tsp.l. - white; 0.5 tsp.l. black - for decoration) - 2 teaspoon
  • Wheat flour / Flour (for dusting) - 20 g
  • Chicken egg (for greasing) - 1 pc

How to cook sweet cake "flowers" step by step with photos

I made the dough according to my recipe "The Cottage Cheesecake Fillings".

Then I make the filling as in my recipe "Honey buns with cream-cheese filling" (I beat cream cheese and sugar with a little mixer, add egg, beat a little again. Add sifted flour, whisk, gradually add cold milk, continuing to whisk. I put the bowl in a microwave oven, heat the mass at full power for 1.5-2 minutes. I whip the mass again for a while, then heat it in the microwave again, and so on three times. Add lemon juice and butter and mix a little more. The filling is ready. I leave it to cool a little, then cover with cling film and leave it to cool down completely (if you don't cover the filling, the top will dry out)).

I made the pie with two kinds of additives - dried apricots and dried cranberries. I wash the dried apricots and finely chop them.

I divide cooled cream-cheese filling into two parts, add dried apricots to one and dried cranberries to another.

I mix both toppings.

When the dough has doubled in size 2-3 times, I knead it.

And I divide it into 8 equal parts.

I form balls of dough, cover them with clingfilm and let them rest for 10-15 minutes.

Using flour for dusting, roll out a small circle from one piece of dough. Fold out a piece of dough from the top into the middle.

Then I fold the dough from the bottom also towards the middle.

Then I use a rolling pin to roll out a strip of dough.

Using a knife, make incisions along the edge of the pastry sheet at about 0.7-1 cm intervals.

Place the filling on the pasta sheet and spread it along the entire length, about 1 cm away from the edge, using a spoon.

Roll up the pastry. Pinch the edge of the roll. That way I form four "flowers" with dried dried apricots and 4 with dried cranberries.

I use a 25 cm diameter tin, if you have a smaller diameter tin, it will need less filling and dough. I grease the form with oil. I put the dough pieces into the mould.

Cover the cake with cling film and let it double in size.

I grease the pie with a beaten egg.

The middle of each "of each flower" I sprinkle black sesame seeds on the middle and white sesame seeds on the rest of the cake.

I bake the pie in a preheated 170 degrees oven for about 50-55 minutes, as soon as the top of the pie has browned, I cover the pie with foil and continue baking. If you want to use the filling, which can leak during baking - you can roll out one piece of dough according to the size of the mold and fill the bottom, and then lay on this dough "the flowers" out of the pastry. Enjoy your dinner!
