Ingredients for cake "valentines" with berry-vanilla cream:

For the crust

  • Sugar - 100 g
  • Butter (82.5% fat., TM "Milier") - 100 g
  • Chicken egg - 1 pc
  • Salt - 1 pinch.
  • Vanillin - 1 sachet.
  • Wheat flour / Flour (+1 tablespoon for rolling cookies) - 200 g
  • Leavening Agent - 1 teaspoon

For cream

  • Milk (3,2% fat.) - 250 ml
  • Sugar - 3 tablespoon
  • Vanillin - 1 sachet.
  • Chicken egg (medium) - 1 pc
  • Wheat flour / Flour - 0,5
  • Starch - 1 tablespoon
  • Water (cold) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sour cream - 2 tablespoon
  • Dark Chocolate (I have chocolate chips) - 30 g


  • Cranberry (or other. small berry) - 200 g
  • Coconut flakes - to taste

How to cook cake "valentines" with berry-vanilla cream step by step with photos

1. Ingredients for the cake.

2. Prepare the cake batter. Cream butter and sugar.

3. Add 1 egg, vanilla and a pinch of salt.

4. Sift flour into a bowl. Mix the flour with the baking powder and add it in batches to the butter mixture.

5. Knead the dough into a soft dough that is not sticky to your hands or bowl. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

6. Prepare the cream. Bring milk and sugar to a boil on stove until sugar begins to dissolve. Take it off the stove.

7. Add the starch, flour, vanilla and stir well into the well-boiled egg. Add 1 tablespoon of cold water and stir again.

8. Add the egg mixture in a thin trickle to the sweet milk. Put the pan on low heat and stir occasionally so that the cream thickens a bit, 1-2 minutes. Remove the pan with the cream from the stove.

9. Take a baking dish, F 21-22 cm, and cover it with baking paper. Grease the bottom and sides of the tin with butter. Separate 1/4 of the cooled pastry from the cake and put it into the fridge. This is to decorate the cake (valentine's card). Spread the rest of the dough in the cake tin.

10. Form the pastry into a bowl.

11. Add 2 tablespoon of sour cream to the cooled cream and mix.

12. Then add 2-3 tablespoon chocolate chips or small pieces of chocolate, mix together.

13. Spoon the cream into the pastry bowl. Then put thawed berries that have dried a little with a paper towel. Т. е. the berries should be without water.

14. Take out 1/4 of the cooled dough. Dust countertop with flour, roll out dough 0.5 cm thick and cut out hearts with molds (size ~3 cm).

15. Decorate the cake with hearts and bake in a preheated 180 C oven, ~30 minutes. Check on a dry match only the edge of the crust, i.e. pierce with a match in the center of the heart.

16. After baking, brush the edge of the pie with butter. Cover the cake with a light towel and give it time to cool, then take it out of the mold, prying a little from the edge with a matchstick. Decorate the pie with coconut shavings. And with a pastry pencil decorate Valentine's cards. The pie is ready! Have a nice tea party!
