  • Vanillin (on the tip of a knife)

For the cream

  • Vanilla pudding - 1/2 package.
  • Sugar - 50 g
  • Milk - 250 ml
  • Butter (soft) - 100 g

For the top layer

  • Sugar - 90 g
  • Butter - 90 g
  • Water - 4 tablespoon
  • Walnuts (chopped) - 200 g

For decoration (optional)

  • Dark chocolate - 20 g
  • Milk - 2 tablespoon
  • Powdered sugar - 1 tablespoon

How to cook vanilla pecan pie step by step with photos

Make the dough. Place soft butter, sugar, vanilla and egg in a bowl. Stir everything.

Mix flour with baking powder. Sift together . Knead the dough. Roll it into a ball, cover with clingfilm and put in the fridge for 1 hour.

Then we distribute the dough in the form. I have a diameter of 22 cm. We send it to a preheated oven up to 180 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. The ready cake should cool in the mold. There is no need to free it from the ring!

Let's prepare the cream. Melt butter.

Cook the pudding according to the instructions on the package. Pour a half glass of milk into a saucepan and bring it to the boil. Mix separately half a packet of pudding, 50 grams of sugar and the rest of the milk in a glass. Stir well so that there are no lumps.

Bring milk to a boil, remove from heat. Thinly pour pudding into milk, stirring all the time.

Return to the heat. After boiling, simmer for about 1 minute until it thickens. Then pour melted butter into the pudding. Stir until smooth.

Cover the cake with melted cream, still hot. Let it cool.

Let's prepare the top layer. To begin with walnuts should be slightly crushed.

Pour the sugar in a saucepan and add 3-4 tablespoons of water. Cook over low heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Sugar should turn golden in color.

Then dissolve butter in sugar caramel.

Pour walnuts into the mixture. Stir everything.

Cover the pie gently. Let it harden for a while.

Put the cake on a plate. To decorate the cake we make a chocolate frosting. For this we need 1/3 of a piece of dark chocolate and some milk. Melt chocolate in the microwave. Mix until smooth. Decorate the cake with chocolate flakes.
