Weekday Cake

Cooked Pie

Nutritional Value

A second name for this pie is "How to dispose of jam deliciously when no one else is eating it." The dough based on the syrup from the jam, without oil or any fats, is very fragrant, the structure is porous and delicate, but a little dry, so we soaked the buttering from the berries from jam with lemon juice. All together makes a very, very good breakfast option on a day off or for afternoon tea. It certainly does not lend itself to the holiday pie, the jam gives a hint of ordinariness, but maybe I ate it too much, it was very tasty, I liked eating jam in this form, in the bare we have something does not go.

How to cook "everyday" pie step by step with photos

I made apple jam, I have a lot of it and no one (me) eats it!))) Put the milk, sugar, spices and syrup on a low heat and bring to a boiling point so that the sugar dissolves. Turn it off, add the baking soda, stir it and let it cool down a bit.

A froth should form. There's still a very positive moment, all kneaded without a mixer, by hand, lightly mixing the products together, really saves time on washing up and generally is fast.

Lightly beat the egg with a fork or whisk. Add eggs to slightly cooled milk mixture,

Stir gently with a whisk, add yogurt and zest, mix again manually with a whisk.

Then add sifted flour with baking powder. knead the dough. The dough is quite thick, but the consistency is tight. If you put a spoon in it, it stands, but it starts to clump unsteadily and sluggishly.))) Т. к. flour, syrup and other ingredients, it is better to add 1.5 tbsp. flour first, then add more if necessary. Pour the batter into the mold and bake at 180 C for about an hour, maybe longer, until dry. If the top starts to brown, cover with foil or paper. Let the pie cool on a rack.

Grind the apple jam in a blender into a puree, though you don't have to do that, it's even better not to, it will be more interesting when it's in pieces. I realized this later, when I ate it, although it was already incredibly delicious. Mix apple jam with lemon juice and butter, put it on the fire, bring it to a boil and simmer for about 3-4 minutes.

Remove from the heat, add the pecans and cool it down, possibly to a lukewarm state.

Cut the cake into two layers. The layers can be soaked in syrup, the same from the jam, in my case all the liquid went into the dough, a little soaked usual, bought, strawberry. The dough is sweet, so you can add a drop of lemon juice to the syrup for sourness. Spread the fondant on the bottom cake, cover with the second one, press a little, and you can sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

I cut the top cake into cubes. I mixed these cubes with the apple mixture.

I put it on the bottom layer, let it sit on the windowsill overnight, and then I took a bite. I can't help it, my hat is bloated on top, it's not very pretty, so I cut the top layer into slices and made it more or less flat.

You can divide the fondant into two parts and spread it in the middle and on top, it sets better than jam, it's not liquid, even at room temperature.
