My favorite thing is the yeast dessert. I'm always trying and learning how to work with dough at the same time. I like to experiment and make interestingly shaped pies. I like my pies to be not only tasty, fluffy, and soft, but also beautiful. Such a cake would decorate any festive table. The filling can be anything you like: sweet, meat, fish, or vegetable. Shaping ( weaving) this cake is a pleasure and it is not as hard as it may first seem. Try it, I'm sure you'll succeed!

Ingredients for roll "roll":

For dough

  • Wheat flour / Flour (maybe a little less) - 700 g
  • Milk (approx. 200 ml) - 1 glass
  • yeast (dry, but fresh can also be used) - 10 g
  • Chicken egg - 2 pcs
  • Butter (+) - 100 g
  • sugar (can be added) - 2 tablespoon
  • Salt (pinches) - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Vanillin (1-2 g) - 1 pc

For the filling

  • Apple - 3 pcs
  • Raisins (+) - 100 g

For the syrup

  • Water - 150 ml
  • Sugar - 3 tablespoon

For the grease

  • Egg yolk - 1 pc
  • Milk - 1 tablespoon

How to cook roll "scone" step by step with photos

Dilute the yeast in warm milk, add 1 tablespoon sugar, sift in 2 tablespoon of flour, mix well, cover and leave in a warm place for 15 minutes.

Melt butter and leave to cool slightly

Sift the flour, add the rest of the sugar (adjust the amount according to your taste), add the vanilla and a whisper of salt, mix well.

Add melted butter and eggs to the sourdough, add flour gradually and knead into a soft dough.

Cover the dough with clingfilm and leave in a warm place for an hour and a half. In between, knead the dough one more time. (the dough should double in volume)

Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Peel and core off apples and cut into small pieces. Raisins are washed with warm water, drain off the water and put on a napkin. Pour apples into ready syrup and boil for 10 minutes, stirring all the time. Remove from fire, add raisins and stir well. The filling is ready!

Now let's start shaping the pie. For this we divide the dough into 2 parts, one of which will be half the size of the other. Roll out the small part of the cake into a rectangular shape and put the filling in the middle (the filling should not be hot)

Tape the edges together to form a loaf

Rolling out the second part of the dough. Cover the table with flour and roll out a large oval-shaped layer, 3-4 mm thick

Place the roll in the middle.

On the free sides of the bottom sheet, cut into strips at an angle of 45 degrees. The width of the strips should be about 8 mm.

At the bottom, on the side where we start to weave the cake, cut off unnecessary part of the dough, leaving only "the tongue", which we wrap on top of the roll (see picture). photo)

We start plaiting in a staggered order, over and under, using alternately strips of both sides

And so weave to the end. Whip the egg yolk with the milk and glaze the roll. Leave it for 20 minutes.

Bake at 190 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
