There are two kinds of dough in this pie: the soft dough, which is poured into the mold by dipping the pieces of fruit into it (it is the dough that "bulges" in the oven so that the fruit is drowned in it), and the crumbly dough on top, often called "streusel" in Austrian parlance. Streusel has just a little bit of flour and/or nuts, a little butter, and a lot of sugar. The most popular filling for a grilled egg is blueberry, but I didn't have any, so I used black currant.

I was born and grew up when May 1 was associated with demonstrations of workers. But even then, May Day was amicably celebrated after the demonstration in the countryside with barbeque.
