How to cook egg fried tongues step by step with photos

Pour cold water over the tongues, bring to the boil, simmer for a few minutes and then drain. Rinse the tongues under running water and boil in fresh water.

Add soy sauce to the water - a "Kikkoman" classic is fine, leaving just a tablespoon, add spices and onions. Cook until tender, without overcooking. You can check if it is cooked or not with a fork - it should go in the tongue smoothly, but you should be able to pull it out with a little effort.

Rinse the tongue in cold water and peel it while it is still hot. Put it back in the broth and cool it all the way down, then take it out and let it dry.

Such a tongue itself is very tasty, has a pleasant noble flavor and is no worse than beef tongue. You can slice it as an appetizer or for salads and sandwiches.

But you can go a step further and make a hot tongue appetizer by frying it in an egg. Whisk the eggs with a spoonful of Kikkoman soy sauce until smooth. Sweet sauce would be very good here.

Dip tongue slices in egg and place in a pan with hot oil.

Fry, turning over and over, until crispy.

Wipe off the excess oil with a napkin and serve the tongue while it is still hot.

You can also serve soy sauce. Kikkoman is best.
