Ingredients for green roll with trout:

  • Chicken egg (for pancakes) - 2 pcs
  • Milk (or whey - for pancakes) - 200 ml
  • Wheat flour / Flour (for pancakes, approximately) - 200 g
  • butter (for frying pancakes)
  • Trout (smoked, fillet) - 125 g
  • Sour cream (for stuffing) - 100 g
  • Hard cheese (grated - for stuffing) - 100 g
  • Salt (for stuffing)
  • horseradish (ready - for stuffing) - 1-4 teaspoon
  • Greens (parsley, dill - for pancakes) - 2 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice (for stuffing)
  • Sugar (for stuffing)
  • Black pepper (for stuffing)

How to cook green roll with trout step by step with photos

Make pancake batter: whisk eggs, whey (milk), flour, pinch of salt. Add chopped greens.

Fry 7 thin pancakes in butter.

Mix grated cheese, sour cream, horseradish (you can adjust the spiciness!) I added 1 tsp.l. horseradish so it wouldn't interfere with the trout flavor. Season with salt, pepper, lemon juice, sugar.

Place pancakes on foil with overlapping. Grease with cheese mixture.

Lay trout on top.

Roll up tightly.

And leave it in the fridge for some hours.

Slice the roulade into portions.
