And here I dare to post the world's appetizer - pickled herring. I'm sure you haven't tasted herring like this yet! The recipe is mine, the author made up yesterday by me as an experiment. The herring is delicious! And what could be better for dinner than crispy boiled potatoes... with a little herring... Mmm... Help yourself!

Ingredients for herring cognac herring:

  • Herring (salted) - 2 pcs
  • Sauce (Teriyaki "Kikkoman") - 2 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 2 teaspoon
  • Cognac - 1 teaspoon
  • Vinegar (9% table vinegar diluted with water 1:1 - and take 1 tsp.l. solution) - 1 teaspoon
  • vegetable oil (Drizzle with it when serving)

How to cook herring cognac herring step by step with photos

So, we need herring. Lightly salted herring, preferably own salted herring. But if you don't have it, a whole herring will do, but it tastes better in a store

Cut herring into fillets, remove bones

For marinade pour sauce into sugar "Teriyaki" Kikkoman

Add the vinegar diluted with water

And cognac. Stir until the sugar has dissolved

Pour marinade over herring fillets and put in the fridge overnight.

Slice marinated herring into slices, drizzle with vegetable oil, garnish to your taste!!!
