Ingredients for dry salted mackerel:

  • Mackerel (freshly frozen) - 0.7 kg
  • Salt (sea salt or coarse non-iodized!!!) - 1 tablepoon
  • Bay leaf - 3 pcs
  • Spices (for spicy salt, 7 dishes) - 1 teaspoon

How to cook dry salted mackerel step by step with photos

Remove the entrails, cut off the head and tail. Rinse very well

Prepare spices, chop bay leaf in small pieces (if fresh, chop). Mix everything. Spoon a tablespoon of salt without a hill

Spread out cling film or plastic sachet. Rub thoroughly with the spice mixture, not forgetting to put it inside the belly.

And now the most important thing: we have to wrap the fish very, very tightly, without leaving any air.

For better salting I wrapped it in a towel and put in the bottom of the refrigerator. We can eat it in 2 or 3 days. Bon appetit!
