Dutch Herring

A very tasty and easy to prepare herring! Serve it with vegetables directly to the potatoes or as a snack. Recipe taken from Elena Kalinina, with my small changes. Thanks to her!
Ingredients for herring dutch:

Herring
(salted)

1 pc

Shallots
-
3 pcs

Carrots
-
1 pc

Vegetable oil
(TM Oleina)

6 tablespoon

Lemon
-
3 dol.

Bay leaf
-
2 pieces

Parsley
-
1/3 bunch.

Sugar

1 teaspoon

Allspice

How to cook herring Dutch step by step with photos

Peel and fillet the herring and cut into chunks as in the photo |

Peel and slice onion and carrot into rings. Prepare the oil, bay leaf and lemon and parsley. |
|
At the bottom of a 750 ml jar, put some of the onions and carrots. |
|
Then part of the herring. |
|
Top with lemon, bay leaf, pepper, peppercorns and a little sugar. |
|
Repeat layers until the herring and vegetables are done. |
|
Pour oil on everything and leave in fridge for 2 days. Turn upside down a couple of times and leave in the fridge, then upside down, then in the normal position. |
