A delicious, spicy fish appetizer. This is not a classic Korean hee recipe, but is inspired by it.

Ingredients for Korean fish ghee:

  • Fish (boneless fish fillet) - 250 g
  • Carrots - 1 pc
  • Onion - 1 pc
  • Vinegar essence - 0.5 tablespoon
  • Salt - 0,5-0,75 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Hot red pepper (fresh) - 0.5 pcs
  • Soy sauce - 1-2 tablespoon
  • Black pepper (ground, to taste)
  • Coriander (ground, to taste)
  • Vegetable oil - 5-7 tablespoon
  • Garlic (or garlic salt) - 1 clove
  • Sweet paprika (ground) - 0.5 teaspoon

How to cook fish hee step by step with photos

Slice fish fillets crosswise into thin slices or coarse julienne.

Cut the onion into thin half rings, grate the carrots with a Korean carrot slicer.

Mix the fish with the vegetables, add salt, sugar, vinegar essence, mix, put in the fridge for an hour. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, almost smoking, add chopped hot pepper, coriander, black pepper, garlic or garlic salt.

Remove from heat and immediately add to the fish and vegetables.

Stir in the soy sauce and paprika. Leave to rest for 2-3 hours.
