Ingredients for potato forshmak

  • Potatoes - 5 pcs
  • Herring (without skin and bones) - 200 g
  • Apple (Simirenko) - 1\4 pcs
  • Onion - 1 4 pcs
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Baton (small slice) - 1
  • Egg yolk (boiled) - 1 pc
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Greens (for serving)
  • Milk - 100 ml

How to cook forshmak in potatoes step by step with photos

1. Peel the potatoes. It is better to take the same kind of tubers, a little oblong. Use a special knife to cut out the center. For beauty, you can make more holes in it, with a pastry cutter.

2. Steam the potatoes.

3. Soak the loaf in milk or water. Grind herring, apple, onion and baton in a food processor. Normally, potatoes should be minced with a meat grinder, but I minced them with a food processor.

4. Then add butter and grated egg yolk. Stir and season to taste. Put in the fridge.

5. Chill steamed potatoes. Fill the potatoes with the herring mixture with a spoon or a pastry bag and decorate as you wish.
