Another one of my fancy. I've been pondering over what to do with herring, and this recipe came to mind. Hope you like it! SZZ. It's a classic way to spread it on bread, which I did =)

Ingredients for herring and cheese snack:


  • Herring (filet is better, but I am a masochist and I like to peel it) - 300 g
  • Chicken egg (boiled) - 2 pcs
  • Hard cheese - 100 g
  • Mayonnaise - 100-150 g
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Greens (just a little)
  • Black pepper (to taste)

How to cook herring and cheese step by step with photos


Cut herring (if not fillet), cut into small cubes

Grate eggs on large grater

Grate cheese on large grater. Grate garlic on fine (or pass through the press)

Finely chop the greens

Add mayonnaise, pepper, mix and mash... Enjoy Enjoy!! Goes well with boiled potatoes or as I wrote above, on sandwiches.
