Ingredients for herring snack with pickled cucumber:


  • Herring (large) - 1 pc
  • Cheese mass (frame, cream bonjour) - 1 unit.
  • Sweet pepper (3-4)
  • Dill (couple of sprigs) - 3 pcs
  • Cucumber (pickled or barrel) - 2 pcs
  • quail egg - 7 units

How to cook herring appetizer with pickle step by step with photos


Wash and dry peppers, bake until tender, then peel. Slice into thin strips.

Remove bones, guts and skin from herring. Slice the fillets lengthwise into 14 lengths. One half makes seven nice slices. Mix cream of cottage cheese with finely chopped dill. Optionally add a small sweet onion. if herring is lightly salted, the mass should be salted and peppered a little.

Using a teaspoon, place the curd mixture on the pepper slices, roll up. Top with a slice of herring, a slice of cucumber, a slice of quail egg, a sprig of dill.
