Herring in a Ball

Beet Ball with Herring Stuffing.
Ingredients for herring ball:

Beets
(steamed)

Egg yolk
(boiled)

Cheese semi-hard
("Russian")

50 g

Salt
(to taste)

Herring
(pickled)
How to cook herring in a ball step by step with photos

Grate boiled beets on a fine grater. |

Grate egg yolk. |
|
Grate cheese on a fine grater. |
|
Mix and season with salt. |
|
Open a can of herring (I use "Mathieu" or "Atlantic" pickled). |
|
Make a cake out of the mixture, put a piece of herring in it and make a ball. |
|
Let it sit in the fridge for an hour and a half, and you're good to go!!! |
