Herring in mustard marinade

This version of herring in mustard marinade is made with two kinds of mustard: Russian and French. My family really loves herring made with this recipe, so I am happy to share it with you, dear cooks!
Ingredients for herring in mustard marinade:

(lightly salted)

Mustard
(1 tbsp.l. Russian, 1 tbsp.l. French)

2 tablespoon

Onions
-
1 pc

Lemon
-
0.5 pc

Sugar
-
1 teaspoon
-
Sunflower oil

3 tablespoon
How to cook herring in mustard marinade step by step with photos

Slice onions into rings. You can use more onions if you wish. |

Remove the tail and head of the herring and peel off the skin. |
|
Remove the backbone and bones. |
|
Cut the fillets into portions and fill the jar, alternating with the onions.
Lay the onions on the bottom and then the herring. |
|
Mix 2 kinds of mustard with sunflower oil and lemon juice, add sugar. |
|
Pour the marinade over the herring in the jar, cover and leave in the fridge for 12 hours. |
|
After that time the herring is ready!
It can be served with boiled potatoes, put on bread. |
