Ingredients for herring in a spicy marinade:


  • Herring (lightly salted) - 1 pc
  • Onions - 1 pc
  • Cherry (fresh) - 300 g

How to cook herring in a spicy marinade step by step with photos


Peel and gut the herring, remove the bones and cut into pieces. Put them in a glass dish.

Cut the onion into half rings and add to the herring.

Wash and de-seed the cherries, then use a blender to blend them until smooth (you will get a cherry puree).

Pour the cherry puree over herring and onion, mix and leave in the fridge for 24 hours.

In 24 hours take a herring out of the marinade, peeling each piece. Decorate with onions, boil some young potatoes and you are ready to dine. Enjoy!!
