How to cook herring in spicy marinade step by step with photos

We'll take lightly salted and fat herring. I had a salted herring, so I had 3 tails left. Peel herring of skin and bones and cut into strips.

Slice red onion (Yalta onion) in thin semi rings.

Make a marinade with vinegar, sumac and paprika.

Mix herring, onion and marinade.

Put into a handy tin, pour sunflower oil from "oleina". Put in cold for 24 hours, shake a few times.

Serve herring in spicy marinade, as an appetizer. Enjoy fasting with pleasure!
