Herring in Spicy Marinade

A very flavorful, spicy herring. You can have herring for Lent on the Lenten days. Tomorrow is the Annunciation, make it today and you won't regret it!
Ingredients for herring in a spicy marinade:

Sunflower oil
("Oleina")

50 ml

Herring
(lightly salted fat)

1 pc

Red onion
-
1 pc
-
Pepper mixture
(coarse grinding)

1/2 teaspoon
-
Sumac
-
1/2 teaspoon
-
Vinegar
(table, 6%)

50 ml
How to cook herring in spicy marinade step by step with photos

We'll take lightly salted and fat herring.
I had a salted herring, so I had 3 tails left.
Peel herring of skin and bones and cut into strips. |

Slice red onion (Yalta onion) in thin semi rings. |
|
Make a marinade with vinegar, sumac and paprika. |
|
Mix herring, onion and marinade. |
|
Put into a handy tin, pour sunflower oil from "oleina".
Put in cold for 24 hours, shake a few times. |
|
Serve herring in spicy marinade, as an appetizer.
Enjoy fasting with pleasure! |
