  • Herring - 2 units
  • Butter - 150 g
  • Dill - 1 bunch.

How to cook herring currants step by step with photos


We need two lightly salted herring fillets. I always salt them myself. I throw herring from the bones and marinade: 0,5 l water, 1 tablepoon salt, 0,5 tablepoon sugar, 1 tablepoon apple cider vinegar, black pepper, coriander, bay leaves. And that's how we keep the fillets overnight. In the morning, a nice salted herring!

We mash the butter with the finely chopped dill.

After we take herring out of marinade we put it dry on paper towel and generously butter it.

Let's make a roll. We have got such beauties. We put them in the freezer for 20 minutes till the butter hardens completely.

Slice the rolls thinly into rings. Very tasty with homemade bread!
