Ingredients for herring rolls:


  • Herring (salted) - 2 pcs
  • Mustard - 2 teaspoon
  • Tomato juice - 1 glass
  • Chili pepper (red)

How to cook herring rolls step by step with photos


I cut one herring into fillets.

Coat the fillets with mustard.

Sprinkle with chopped chili pepper.

I cut each sirloin in half lengthwise, twisted it into a roll and pinned with a toothpick.

Here are the rolls I made.

Put the rolls in a bowl.

Pour tomato juice on them (I added a bit more vinegar as well, because. к. the juice was homemade and not sour at all). Put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours (I had it for 24 hours).

And the second herring, I also parsed into fillets, cut into small slices, added the onion (semicircles),

I added mayonnaise, ketchup "chili" and 1 tsp. spoonful of sugar. Stir and let stand.
