  • Bread - 4 slices.
  • Chicken egg (boiled) - 2 pcs
  • Herring (filet) - 2 pcs
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoon
  • Mustard - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

How to cook herring sandwiches step by step with photos


These are the ingredients we need.

Cut the crusts off the bread and cut each slice into 4 portions.

Sear each slice on both sides with a little oil over medium heat. Do not overcook or they will be tough.

Peel the eggs and grate them on a coarse grater. Mix eggs, mayonnaise and mustard in a bowl. I advise you not to disregard the mustard, it adds a special flavor to the dish.

Spread the mass on the bread.

Cut each fillet of herring into 8 pieces. Place one slice at a time on the bread. Enjoy!..
