Herring with sour cream

If you've never tasted herring with sour cream, please. Great snack, and just with potatoes. I don't think I've found this recipe on the site. Our godmother gave me this recipe. I was afraid to cook it, so I decided to try it when we were a guest. It turned out very, very tasty. Goes away in a jiffy. I've been making it this way for years

How to cook herring under sour cream step by step with photos
|
Cut onions in half rings. Marinate in vinegar (I have a regular vinegar) for 20-30 minutes |
|
Peel and remove bones from herring.
Cut into slices and put them on a dish |
|
Put onions in a colander for a minute, then let liquid run off.
Place on top of the herring. Put a layer of sour cream on top.
Sprinkle with ground black pepper (it would be better to grind it with a mortar or rolling pin).
Let it soak in the cold, preferably for 5 hours (or you can eat it straight away). Mmmm,... Yummy.
