I love mackerel. And this is one of my recipes for this fish. Might be good for someone. Per 100 grams: 44 kcal and 0 u. е. (without onions).

Ingredients for home smoked mackerel:

  • Mackerel - 2 pcs
  • Tea - 4 pcs
  • Water - 1 l
  • Salt - 3 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Bay leaf - 3 pcs
  • Pepper mixture (to taste)
  • Liquid smoke - 100 g

How to cook smoked mackerel step by step with photos

Defrost mackerel, wash, cut off the head and gut.

Marinade: Boil water, throw in a bay leaf and teaspoons and simmer for 5 minutes. Then add salt, sugar, pepper and chill. Add the liquid smoke. In a convenient bowl (I don't make it in a jar, because I prefer to keep it in a jar. к. all the spices get stuck to the bottom) and pour the marinade over it. On the second day turn the fish on its side.

On the 3rd day we take the fish out, rub spices on it and hang it by the tail for several hours to let the liquid run down.

That's all!!! The fish is ready!!!
