Ingredients for homemade mackerel:


  • Mackerel (freshly frozen) - 2 pcs
  • Salt (approximate, "how many will take") - 1 glass
  • Onions (depending on the size, an onion should start and end the styling) - 4 pcs
  • Vegetable oil (not refined, "bazaar") - 1 glass

How to cook mackerel step by step with photos


Prepare the ingredients. Peel fish without defrosting, remove skin, head, guts and cut into fillets.

Cut the fillets into 2 cm wide pieces and coat each piece in coarse salt on all sides. Set aside for 1 hour.

Cut the onion into half rings or quarters, depending on the size of the onion.

After 1 hour, rinse each piece of fish under running water and wipe off moisture. Put in the container, alternating with the onions, pour each layer of onions with oil and press lightly with your hand. Make sure the top layer is an onion layer.

Put our fish in the fridge for 12 hours. And then with potatoes, black bread, what would be a snack?!..
