Ingredients for a Chisinau-style forshmak:

  • Onions (large onion) - 1 pc
  • Butter - 125 g
  • Cream cheese (soft) - 150 g
  • Baton (sliced) - 3 slice.
  • Chicken egg - 2 glass
  • Apple (green, small) - 1 pc
  • Herring (big with milk) - 1 pc
  • Mustard (Dijon) - 2 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 2 tablespoon

How to cook fishmak from Kishinev step by step with photos

All right, let's get ready!

Prepare the herring: take off skin and remove bones.

Soak bun in milk and squeeze out, Cut the apple into strips, add to the herring and milk and mince through a meat grinder (I used a blender).

Boil the eggs, chop the onion and fry in vegetable oil. Combine all the products, including butter and cheese (I take more - about 200-230 grams, but it's a matter of taste). Whisk everything carefully and the most important thing is not to forget the mustard!
