  • Herring
  • Water - 0.5 l
  • Salt - 1.5 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Vinegar (9%) - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper (peas) - 10 units
  • Bay leaf - 3-4 pcs

How to cook home salted herring step by step with photos


Pour water, salt, sugar, vinegar, pepper, bay leaf and boil in a pot. Let the brine cool.

Gut the herring, cut off the head

Put in the cooled brine.
