  • Lemon Juice - 1/2 Piece
  • Mixture of paprika (ground)
  • Red onion - 1 pc
  • Sugar - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Herring (lightly salted) - 1 pc
  • Blackcurrant (freshly frosted or fresh) - 100 g

How to cook salted herring with currants step by step with photos


Fillet the herring. Slice herring into slices.

Prepare currants.

For the marinade mix sugar, lemon juice and pepper.

Peel onion, cut into rings.

Put herring slices in a bowl, glaze with currants and onion.

Pour marinade on it. Tamp down a little. Put it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Serve, garnish with onion and currants.
