  • Squid (red, not peeled - very important) - 1 kg
  • Water (drinking water) - 150 ml
  • Lemon ( small) - 1 pc
  • Salt - 2 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 5 pins
  • Bay leaf - 1 pc

How to cook pickled squid step by step with photos


Rinse and peel calamari under cold water (do not remove the foil). Pour water into a small saucepan, add bay leaf, pepper (do not salt) and put on the heat.

Once the water boils, put the calamari and cover with a lid, Once boiling, cook (over high heat) for 3 to 5 minutes, no more (stir a couple of times).

Remove the calamari with a slotted spoon, rinse under cold water and cut into rings.

Sieve the broth in which the calamari was boiled, Season with 2 tsp. Spoon salt, juice of one lemon, stir.

Put the calamari in a jar or a bucket, pour the marinade over it, cover and set aside in the fridge. In 3-4 hours you can taste it. Store in the fridge.
