This used to be our favorite sit-down dish, but then got bored. I remembered it now, so I thought I'd share it with you and write down the recipe at the same time. It goes well with both beer and vodka. Everybody loves onions, so do not skimp on them.

Ingredients for Special Herring:


  • Herring (T/O M/S) - 2 pcs
  • Onions - 1 pc
  • Sugar - 4 teaspoon
  • Sunflower oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Vinegar essence (70%) - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 teaspoon
  • Water - 1 tablespoon

How to cook special herring step by step with photos


Gut the herring, remove the bones, slice it up. I separate the belly from the back and cut into small pieces. The herrings and caviar in the same way.

Chop the onions in half rings.

Put the onions in the herring

Pour sugar on top of herring

Then add vinegar, oil, soy sauce and water. Stir well. Leave for at least half an hour.
