  • Capelin (freshly frozen) - 1 kg
  • bay leaf (in brine) - 5 units
  • Cloves (in buds, in brine) - 15 units
  • Salt (in brine) - 2 tablespoon
  • Water (in brine) - 1 l

How to cook capelin step by step with photos


Wash 1 kilo of capelin well.

Cover the capelin in brine, for the brine you need 5 bay leaves, 15 clove buds,

2 tablespoon of salt and a liter of water.

We put the pot on the gas, bring it to a boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes. After that let the brine cool down completely.

Pour the capelin in the brine and let it stay for 6-7 hours. All our fish is ready, it turns out very tasty and fragrant!
