Ingredients for calamari in batter:


  • Pepper Mixture (ground)
  • Egg Whites - 3 pcs
  • Wheat flour / Flour
  • Squid (raw) - 400 g
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Salt
  • Light beer / Beer

How to cook calamari in batter step by step with photos


Making dough. Pour salt and pepper into flour and add a little oil.

Stir and add beer and stir with a whisk until all lumps are dissolved. Leave it for about 20 minutes. The beer lends a pleasantly bitter taste to the batter.

It works out a consistency like this.

Whisk 3 egg whites, add to the batter and mix with a wooden spoon.

Dip prepared calamari (cut into strips, into rings) in batter and fry in a deep fryer until golden brown at 190 degrees. Comfortable without a grate and better to put the pieces with your hands. Take out the fried squids, give time (a minute) for the excess oil to drain off. Serve on a napkin, warm.
