A nice and easy-to-make Greek sauce made from salted cod roe will grace any holiday table as an appetizer and will definitely surprise your guests with its delicacy.

Ingredients for the tarama:

  • Fish caviar / Caviar (cod roe, salted and/or smoked) - 200 g
  • Bread (large, for toasts) - 3 slices.
  • Lemon juice - 90 ml
  • Vegetable oil - 320 ml
  • Milk - 100 ml

How to cook tarama step by step with photos

Cut the crusts off the bread and quickly dip it in the milk. Squeeze out.

Put the cod roe in a blender or food processor with the bread and lemon juice. Grind until smooth.

Without turning off the food processor we pour the vegetable oil in a trickle.

All we have to do is to put the sauce in a bowl, cover it with foil and put it in the fridge before serving. The tarama may thicken slightly as it cools. Serve on bread. Bon appetit!!) *Recipe taken from "a foodie's dream" book
