Ingredients for herring pate


  • Herring - 250 g
  • Cereal flakes ("Mistral", "5 cereals") - 0.5 glass
  • Water (boiling) - 0,5 glass
  • Chicken egg - 1 pc
  • quail egg (optional, for decoration) - 4 pcs
  • Onions (small onion, optional) - 1 pc
  • Garlic (optional) - 1 clove

How to cook herring pate step by step with photos


Boil eggs. Take out the quail eggs after 3 to 4 minutes, leave the chicken eggs for 10 minutes.

While the eggs are boiling half a cup of Mistral 5 Grain Flakes...

... Pour half a glass of boiling water in it and cover with a lid.

Cut 250g of herring fillet into arbitrary slices. If we use onion and garlic, we peel and chop them too, but I didn't want to smell in the morning :), and it turned out very delicious.

The rest is really easy: we put everything in a blender and puree it into a smooth paste. This is roughly what it will look like. If you need to salt it (usually you don't need to, the herring is salty enough as it is), add spices, if you wish. All!
