A thought occurred to me and wouldn't let go. I wanted to make a Christmas tree-shaped snack, puff pastry and melted cheese "Hochland" I have, but what stuffing to prepare, not to repeat, was not very calorie-dense, I puzzled. I took the puff pastry and the process began. Ideas arose in the process of cooking. I hope you like this appetizer for New Year table.

  • Melted Cheese ("Hochland" in slices Assorted) - 150 g
  • Mushrooms (oyster mushrooms) - 200 g
  • Flaky puff pastry - 400 g
  • Onions - 3 pcs
  • Vegetable oil - 5 tablespoon
  • Dill - 0.5 bunch.
  • Mayonnaise (homemade, from apples with mustard) - 3 tablespoon
  • Pomegranate - 40 g
  • Pine nuts - 1 handful.
  • Sesame - 2 tablespoon
  • Salad leaves / Lettuce (for decoration) - 0.5 bunch.
  • Salt (to taste)

Defrosted the puff pastry.

Cut out little Christmas trees with a cookie cutter. There are 8 of them.

Cut out the middle of 4 of them with a smaller herringbone.

Place in the oven to bake at 200 degrees for 15 minutes.

In the meantime I prepared the stuffing of mushrooms and onions.

The onions fried until transparent, added mushrooms and cooked until tender, salted, you can add a couple of spoons of sour cream or cream, to make the stuffing creamy taste.

The herringbones turned out like this.

I used melted cheese "Hochland" in slices.

I opened the package and got ready to cut the herringbones out of the cheese.

Stuffing ready, washed the lettuce leaves.

I dipped the herringbone with a hole in mayonnaise. I have a homemade one made with apples, cooking oil, and mustard, very spicy.

I put the herringbone and cheese on the lettuce sheet.

Spread herringbones like this on a plate on lettuce leaves.

Put other herringbones without a cut out middle next to each other.

I added dill to the mushroom stuffing.

I put a herringbone made of cheese on top of a whole herringbone, smeared it with mayonnaise a little bit beforehand.

These are the herringbones that I put on top of the cheese.

I put a sprig of dill and pomegranate berries on top of the cheese. You can put more slices of herring on them. I didn't want to. You can't eat pickles at night.

I put some pine nuts for the mushroom stuffing, and on the other Christmas trees, too.

It seems that the snack is ready, but I don't like it.

Some Christmas trees look nice, but others not so much.

So I had an idea to smear a little mayonnaise on the edges of those Christmas trees that are stuffed and sprinkle sesame seeds on them. And, oh wonder, the appetizer took on new colors, just what I needed. Help yourself.
