A relative from Tambov came to visit, she brought a lot of wild mushrooms, half of them I pickled, so I have something to put on the New Year table. I also froze some, but the freezer isn't very big, so it didn't hold everything. I made mushroom noodles from the rest and cooked potatoes with mushrooms for supper. And there were still some mushrooms left over. I thought of making some more mushrooms and I remembered a very simple, but very tasteful recipe. And I decided to share it with you.

Ingredients for mushrooms in sour cream:


  • Mushrooms (I had a variety of wild mushrooms, but you can also use oyster mushrooms and champignons. I like the oyster mushrooms better for their taste.) - 1 kg
  • Onions (Large onion) - 1 pc
  • Sour cream - 200-250 g
  • Mayonnaise - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 4-5 clove
  • Dill - 1 bunch.
  • Salt (To taste)
  • Black pepper (To taste)

How to cook mushrooms in sour cream step by step with photos


Rinse, shred and boil mushrooms in salted water. Cook for 5-6 minutes to prevent overcooking. ! If you have oyster mushrooms or champignons, you don't need to boil them! Oyster mushrooms, mushrooms can be immediately fried, I boil only wild mushrooms.

Throw the boiled mushrooms in a colander and let them drain.

Peel the onion and garlic.

Slice the onion into half rings.

Now we take our mushrooms and fry them in a pan. Again, if you have mushrooms or champignons, they don't need to be boiled, you just wash and cut them up, and fry them immediately.

We fry the mushrooms for about 7 minutes and add the sliced onions. Taste and season with salt and pepper and mix well. Fry for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Now add sour cream to the mushrooms, I add a little mayonnaise to the sour cream, but if you do not eat mayonnaise, you can do without it.

We put the lid on and let it stew for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Now the final step, while the mushrooms stewed I chopped finely dill and divided it into two parts. Take off the lid, stir it, add one part of the dill, stir again, pass the garlic through the press, stir and immediately turn off the heat.

Now put the mushrooms in a bowl and garnish with the second part of the dill.
