Ingredients for Apple and Herring Tarts "snowflakes":

  • Bun (round; for sandwiches) - 3 pcs
  • Butter (soft) - 50 g
  • Carrots (medium size) - 3 pcs
  • Potatoes (medium size) - 4 pcs
  • Apple (large, sour-sweet) - 1 pc
  • Red onion (medium size) - 1 pc
  • Chicken egg (Boiled; whites rubbed on a medium grater and colored with the juice of red cabbage. The yolks are a layer for the salad on top of the onions.) - 4 units
  • Herring (peel, dice fillet) - 1 pc
  • Mayonnaise (preferably white) - 100 g
  • Salt - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Dill (for decoration) - 1 sprig.

How to cook apple and herring patties "snowflakes" step by step with photos

Cut the sandwich rolls lengthwise into 2 halves. (If using a round loaf, cut into slices). Spread a layer of butter on each half, then salt.

Peel and grate boiled carrots. Place in layers on butter. Cut off a corner of mayonnaise and spread "with threads" Mayonnaise on the carrots.

Boil and cool potatoes, peel and grate them on a coarse grater. Arrange on carrots, press with knife, salt, sprinkle with ground black pepper.

Peel sweet and sour apples, grate them on a coarse grater. Spread apple butter on top of potatoes.

Slice red lettuce into rings, pull apart. Arrange on the buns.

Peel herring, dice herring fillets. Spread on buns.

Grate whites of four eggs on medium slices. Grate red cabbage on a medium grater, squeeze the juice into the whites, wait until they turn blue. Spread blue egg whites on top of buns.

Decorate "with snowflakes" - Paint with white mayonnaise.

Add sprigs of dill.
