The name itself intrigued me with its unusual combination, and the disputes in the comments urged me to cook it and decide for myself whether it is edible or not. It turned out that this sandwich is not only edible but also very delicious. Since the first time it was made more than once. And what's more convenient, it can be prepared at home or at a picnic, on the grill.

  • Bread (any) - 6 slices.
  • Sausage (lean) - 150 g
  • Apple - 2 pcs
  • Tomato - 1 pc
  • Horseradish (as a sauce, mild, creamy) - 1.5 teaspoon

How to cook apple and horseradish sandwich step by step with photos


Slices of bread fried on a dry frying pan or grill on both sides (you can of course add butter but I prefer this).

Sausage cut into thin slices and also grill on a pan (grill) for literally 1-2 minutes per side.

Peel the apples, cut out the core and grate on a grater, you can use a regular large one, but the cutter for making Korean carrots is much nicer. Grate grated apples with a little oil. Apples should soften, but should not lose their shape. This process takes 2 to 3 minutes. At a picnic, apples can be cut into slices, grilled, and then chopped.

Add grated horseradish to the roasted apples. Be careful here, as its sharpness and strength varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, so start with a small amount and gradually bring it to the taste you like.

Putting together a sandwich. Put sausage on a slice of bread and top with applesauce :). Garnish with a slice of tomato. These sandwiches are delicious both warm and cold, but I prefer not to wait for them to cool.
