Australian Sandwich

My wife made her first Japanese chocopan bread. It was an airy and flavorful loaf of white bread. And when she began to cut it, I just felt like making a sandwich, which about 10 years ago I used to take on the way to work in a cafe. At that cafe, they used to put premade mixes on toast and bake it quickly. The mix was called.. "Australian".
It's a very unusual combination of foods, but I like it.
For me, one serving is two pieces of toast. If you want to make more, just multiply the proportions of ingredients.

How to cook Australian sandwich step by step with photos
|
Start by toasting 2 pieces of white bread in a toaster or on a grill pan. Sure you can use multigrain. Black is not so good here. |
|
Two strips of smoked bacon fried on a dry pan. Some people like the fat to be completely melted and the meat crispy, some people like just slightly fried bacon.
Slice the fried bacon into thin strips or small slices. |
|
In a bowl mash a banana with a fork, add bacon and 25 grams of grated hard cheese (I had Swiss Gruyere), season to taste and mix thoroughly. |
|
Spread the mixture on toasts and place in a preheated 180 degrees oven for 10 minutes. The cheese should melt. |
|
I like to sprinkle some grated cheese and switch the oven to grill mode 2 minutes before taking the toasts out of the oven.
Good for breakfast or a snack in the afternoon. |
