For the beets

  • Beets - 1 pc
  • Sunflower oil (Oleina TM with olive oil added) - 1 tablepoon
  • Salt - 1 pinch.
  • Basil - 1 pinch.
  • Thyme - 1 pinch.
  • Rosemary - 1 pinch.
  • Garlic - 2 clove

Bread

  • Wheat flour / Flour - 150 g
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Yeast - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Sunflower oil (1 tbsp in the dough, 1 tbsp to grease the dishes and hands, TM Oleina with olive oil) - 2 tablespoon
  • Pumpkin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Cream - 1 tablespoon

Extras

  • Cottage cheese (mascarpone, any cottage cheese)
  • Greens
  • Pumpkin seeds

How to cook baked spicy beets on homemade bread step by step with photos


You have to bake the slices of beets, pre-marinate them with crushed garlic cloves and spicy herbs: thyme; basil; rosemary and drizzle everything with oil. I will use sunflower oil Oleina with the addition of olive oil. Take a mold, thinly slice the beets into whole circles, press the garlic cloves with the flat side of the knife, sprinkle with salt, spicy herbs and pour the oil. Stir, let stand for 5 minutes, then cover with foil and place in oven for 30 minutes at T-180 C.

At the same time I make homemade bread - a mini loaf very fast. Pour flour into a bowl, add sugar, salt and yeast. Combine. Make a well in the middle and pour warm water and oil into it. Knead the dough, at first using a silicone spatula. When all the flour is gathered, oil our hands and continue kneading the dough with our hands. The dough is perfect, it does not stick to your hands. Grease the bowl, roll the dough into a ball and place it there. Place in a warm place for 30 minutes, cover with a towel.

The dough will rise. Knead it and form a loaf. My loaf size is about 24 cm long and 7 cm wide. I put it in a mold, or on a baking paper lined tray. Cover with a towel and let stand for another 15 minutes. Next, brush the top. I use cream. Sprinkle or just stick pumpkin seeds (any kind, sesame seeds are fine) into the dough. You don't have to sprinkle it on. Let's put it in the oven heated up to Т-200С for 20 minutes. The loaf and beets can be put in the same oven, if you have room for it. Reduce cooking time. Everything is ready. Cover the bread with a towel, let it cool and rest while we assemble everything for breakfast or afternoon snack or dinner.

Slice bread for sandwiches.

Spread cottage cheese on the bread, sprinkle with herbs. Spread slices of baked beets on top, sprinkle with seeds. # Such a tasty, spicy flavor... #!
