Unpretentious sandwiches, but a centerpiece of any table. Quickly done and therefore can please anyone, including unexpected guests, as long as they like herring!

Ingredients for sandwich "boat":

  • Vinegar (Balsamic ) - 2 tablespoon
  • Greens (dill, parsley ) - 1 bunch.
  • Butter - 150 g
  • Red onion - 1 pc
  • Herring (with caviar) - 1 pc
  • Baguette - 1 pc
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Lemon (for decoration)
  • Black olives (for decoration)

How to cook sandwich "boat" step by step with photos

Slice red onion into thin rings.

Pour boiling water over the onions and marinate for about 15 minutes in olive oil, balsamic vinegar and soy sauce (I also added a few drops of lemon juice, it's a matter of taste, I like onions sour).

Cut the baguette (or loaf, it's also good with borodinsky bread) into slices and fry in a pan over low heat (so that it dries up a bit) until golden brown, using the least amount of vegetable oil.

Add melted butter, chopped greens and herring caviar in a blender (if you have herring without caviar you can substitute it with Pollock or capelin caviar, or even without it) and blend to get a homogeneous mass.

Spread the butter mixture on toasted baguette.

Peel herring from skin, remove bones. Cut the fillet into small slices. Place them on sandwiches.

Put pickled onions on top.

Garnish with olives and lemons. Bon appetit!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
