Sprat can of course just be served on breads "Generous" and it'll be delicious! You can mix it up with a tomato salad with onions, garlic and olive oil.

Ingredients for bread with tomatoes and sprat:


For sprat

  • Sprat (spicy salt) - 100 g
  • Vinegar (red wine vinegar) - 2 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon

For the salad

  • Tomato - 1 pc
  • Red Onion (small) - 1/2 Piece
  • Vinegar (red wine) - 2 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 clove

For sandwiches

  • Breads (Generous rye)
  • Parsley - 1/4 bunch.
  • Salt

How to cook bread with tomatoes and sprat step by step with photos


Cut the head off a sprat and remove the entrails.

Put a sprat in a bowl, add vinegar, sugar and oil. Stir, cover and chill for 1 day in the fridge.

Finely dice tomatoes.

Dice red onion finely.

Crush garlic. Mix all the ingredients for the salad in a bowl, stir and leave for 15 minutes.

For the sandwiches I choose bread "Generous rye breads".

Drain the salad of excess liquid and place it on the bread. Sprinkle parsley on top.

Arrange 2 sprats on top of the lettuce.

Serve on lettuce leaves. Enjoy!!
