I often bake baguettes, tortillas, focaccia, cheese sticks... Delicious homemade bread may well be a standalone dish on the holiday table, everyone loves it! Still, kneading and baking takes some effort and time. But there is a way to make the most common store-baked bread festive and unparalleled tasty! Two variations: crispy and soft.

Ingredients for cheese-garlic bread:


  • Butter - 150 g
  • Bread (any) - 1 pc
  • Garlic - 2-3 clove
  • Hard cheese (any kind, I have Gouda) - 70-100 g
  • Parsley (or other greens)

How to cook cheese-garlic bread step by step with photos


Mix melted butter, crushed garlic and finely grated cheese.

For a crunchy effect the bread (brick, loaf, baguette...) slice the bread and spread it with the meat-cheese-garlic mixture. It is not necessary to spread it too much, only a little.

For the soft version put the smeared slices together and wrap in foil or a double layer of parchment paper.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Wrapped bread and covered slices put on the tray and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.

Slightly cooled slices cut into small pieces. The bread is crispy, crunchy and flavorful! Tastes even better than the much beloved cheese sticks.
