I'm not going to categorically state that this recipe belongs to the Chinese cuisine, especially in this version. That said, I think it's the kind of "sandwich" might come in handy for Chinese food lovers on a picnic. You can prepare it beforehand at home and take it with you on a picnic, or, if you have a wok, you can cook it over an open fire in the open air. Ingredients for Chinese sandwich:


  • Chicken breast - 200 g
  • flatbread (or pita bread) - 1 pc
  • Cucumber - 1 pc
  • Soy sauce (sweet from TM Kikkoman) - 2 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 clove
  • Chili pepper - 1 pc
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Sesame - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onion
  • Cilantro
  • Black pepper (ground)

How to cook Chinese sandwich step by step with photos


All ingredients in the recipe are for one serving. You have to prepare all the ingredients beforehand, because it's very easy to make. Take chicken breast and cut it into thin strips. Slice thin slices of garlic. Finely chop fresh chili peppers. I have one that's already dried out. Adjust to your own taste in terms of hotness.

You would use a wok for cooking, especially if you are cooking on an open fire in the countryside. If you don't have a wok, you can use a frying pan or sauté pot with a thick bottom. Warm up a wok (frying pan), pour oil. Put chopped chicken filet and fry stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add chopped garlic and chili pepper and stir.

Add ground black pepper and sesame seeds to taste.

Take sweet soy sauce TM Kikkoman. If you don't have it you can take some regular Kikkoman soy sauce and add 1 teaspoon of sugar (or maple syrup).

Add sweet Kikkoman soy sauce to chicken filet and mix together.

Braise for 5 minutes with the lid on.

Take cucumber, cut into thin strips with a vegetable peeler. Slice green onions obliquely into thin rings. Finely chop or tear coriander greens.

Ideal for making this "sandwich" A Chinese flatbread. If you don't have any, you can use a pita. Mix fried chicken fillet with chopped cucumber and put it on the flatbread (pita).

Sprinkle chopped greens and coriander on top. Serve at. Enjoy your appetite and have a rest!
